Evaluation - Question 5
This is question 5 of my evaluation - How did you attract/address your audience?
Evaluation - Question 6
This is question six of my evaluation - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Script for Q6: "Throughout my production I have created a front cover, a double page spread and a contents page. To create my front cover I used Photoshop, to create my contents page and double page spread I used InDesign and to take my pictures I used a Canon 5D Mark 3. Throughout the process of producing my front cover I learnt some new techniques to have more success in my production. One new technique I learnt was how to import new fonts into my product. When creating my masthead I discovered how to change the horizontal and vertical size of the text, knowing this I could resize my masthead in a way that suitably fit the screen and was eye catching. I also discovered how to resize my image using Ctrl+Shift+T to not distort my picture and to size it in a way that dominated the page. Another process I discovered was using the colour swatch tools to guarantee that I could come back to colours I had used previously so I could use them again. I also learnt how to use the zoom tool to good effect in order to line up my cover-lines and remove the background off of my main image. Creating my contents page and double page spread was the first time I had ever used InDesign. I was able to translate a lot of my skills from Photoshop as they are a similar software. Throughout the process I felt I was able to pick up and learn techniques in order to become proficient with the software. I learnt many techniques throughout the process one of which was the ability to resize the vertical and horizontal height of the text. This allowed me to adjust my text (particularly the titles and mastheads) to fit the page better. Another technique I acquired was the technique of letting the text flow through the columns of the double page spread this saved time and made the magazine look more professional as it meant the text would line up. When taking my photographs, I knew that the quality of the image was very important so in order to capture strong images I used a Canon 5D Mark 3. This is a very high quality camera capable of taking very high resolution images. When taking a good image, I realised the importance of lighting particularly when taking the image for my double page spread as it was a dull day. To counter against this, I learnt how to use the flash which dramatically improved the lighting for the image. I also learned how to alter the settings to capture a better image."
